RS Components have traditionally supplied electronic components, engineering tools and consumables, but are increasing moving towards providing more services and digital solutions to their customers.
Our brief was to produce an animated video to form part of an internal launch of two new products at their Northern European conference. The products both provide digital connection to RS services and their customers own stock management systems.
The purpose of the video was to warm up the audience ready for the unveiling of the new products; to explain the context of the products; and to demonstrate how concepts are bought to life, but without giving away what the actual products were.
Our creative proposal and subsequent execution used a 2D graphical line which travelled through the whole animation to represent the journey RS is taking to move from physical products to digital services.
This graphical line was used to draw the outline of parts of the new products to tease the audience about what was to be unveiled.
The messaging was delivered using bold typography and supported by a diverse sequence of film footage. All elements of the animation were edited to create an upbeat, inspiring and uplifting piece to set the mood of the audience.
The animated video received excellent feedback from the client and conference attendees, providing an exciting build up to the physical unveiling.
