New Building Branding

Telford Mann is a firm of Chartered Financial Planners based in Kettering, Northamptonshire. Whilst they were in the process of building their new offices, we were invited to meet with them to present some of our previous brand implementation work.

The new building is a stunning piece of architecture, built on a 1.2-acre plot of land just a mile and half away from the previous site. Recruitment has been a challenge for the firm with many people in the industry choosing to commute to companies in London. We therefore needed to create a workplace which would inspire new joiners and retain existing staff.

The first stage of work involved drawing up initial concepts and building a 3D model to show how they would look in situ. Our client was open to making the most of their bright colour palette and utilising the hive of hexagons which make up their logo. During this phase we also specified the different materials we wanted to use throughout the building which included; wallpaper, wall and window vinyl, ply and acrylic. We worked closely with our production partner, Sign of the Times during this phase through various rounds of prototyping to ensure colour consistency and finishes throughout. The showpiece of the whole building has to be the bespoke cascading wall feature of illuminated hexagons. This hangs from the top floor and down the staircase to welcome visitors as they walk up the stairs.

From initial concept through to the final delivery we have brought to life a new building and created a branded environment for staff and visitors and clients to enjoy. We look forward to continuing to work with Telford Mann. Here are just a few of the positive comments we have received:

“When we first met Triad, we really had no idea of how we wanted the new office to look, other than a bright and modern space for everyone to work in that fitted with our team and ethos, whilst maximising the light coming in from the numerous windows we had incorporated into the building design. Warren and Daisy were able to create a concept which turned our existing logo and colours into a quite unique office design. Every space is different and yet they were always thoughtful about where they felt design was needed, they never tried to fill every gap or overdo it. They were always receptive to feedback and the whole design and installation process was so much easier than we thought it ever would be. The bright pillars and walls obviously stand out, but it is the little touches like the door signage and different textures that give a nod to our Ironstone heritage that we think really make it “our” office. The “pièce de résistance” is the wall art which fills our stairwell. We wanted to avoid the stairwell being the forgotten area and with so much light streaming through, we wanted to make the most of it. The artwork we now have is a focal point, using our colours, heritage and logo to create something which we think stands alone as a piece of art rather than just as part of an office design. Triad’s design has created a contemporary yet traditional feel that our team enjoy working in.”
“Whilst the offices have only just opened, clients have already commented on how impressed they are with our new building and I have certainly noticed a significant and positive response from all the employees.”
“The signage throughout the building is bold and clear, yet understated and again is obviously ‘on brand’. The main hexagonal display in the stairwell up to the second floor is an impressive piece, and I really like how the combination of colours, sizes, depths and lights come together.”
